to go with the undead ramblings of yesterday, my favorite undead story is probably The Outsider by H.P. Lovecraft.
I used to have a crush on Mummymon as a kid, if that counts.
If you think I have problems with zombie fiction, then you should hear about my problems with vampire fiction.
The thing I hate the most with vampire fiction is not sparkly vampires [though they do deserve to get mocked] or dumb vampire concepts, but rather the “my vampires are better than yours.”
To me vampires are all about celebrating the history of vampires in fiction. People who like gross, gruesome vampires are often quick to jump at Twilight’s/Anne Rice’s/whatever’s throat for making vampires sexy, despite the overwhelming evidence that vampires and sex have been interlinked ever since there has been fiction about vampires. People who like pretty vampires are as likely look those people down their noses and then it’s just a big pile of “your vampires aren’t real, MINE ARE” and it’s always stupid because vampires in general aren’t real.
I recently read a vampire anthology. There were like 2 stories where the vampire even was a blood-sucking humanoid. What I’m saying is that vampire is what you want it to be, whether you bow to the often gruesome folktale vampire, or the prettier gothic literature vampire, or to the sometimes abstract and unconventional more modern vampire.
Despite liking undead a lot, I don’t generally enjoy mainstream undead fiction [with the rare vampire stuff here and there, if you count vampire as undead] but I’ve been reading and listening to story anthologies a lot lately, and I find it interesting that while the classic zombie story was about mindless masses [you do know that there is lots of subtext in zombie stuff? It’s one of the reasons I don’t like it.] I’ve been running into more and more “zombies as free work force” style stories lately. I just listened to one, and I read one like a week ago, and I know there are more. It’s an interesting change, I think, and probably worth thinking about more.
I, as said, am not into zombie fiction, mostly because there groups of zombie fiction are: 1) allegories to mindless masses or work force, 2) gross-out stories or 3) “my zombies are better than yours” [this plagues vampire fiction too] and I don’t care for any of those. I’ve been thinking about one of my sorta-projects that involves examining the lives of the undead, but it’s actually really hard to write without giving accidental subtext.
I don’t even know. Zombie-fiction is hard.
Guess what time is it!
It’s another “funny number” art giveaway time! Next funny numbers are miiiiles away so it might take some time until I have a good enough excuse for next giveaway, so now is your chance!
As before, this is an art giveaway. As such, art for prize!
» The one (1) “grand winner” will be rewarded with a fully colored full body picture.
» The runner ups will receive colored headshots.
How many prizes are there?
This giveaway uses “goal post” system! If I receive less than 100 notes, I will cancel the giveaway.
» If there are over 100 notes, I will give out 1 grand prize and 1 headshot.
» If there are over 250 notes, there will be 1 grand prize and 2 headshots.
» If there are over 350 notes, there will be 1 grand prize and 3 headshots.
» If there are over 500 notes, there will be 1 grand prize and 4 headshots.
» If this post receives, for some weird reason, over 1000 notes, there will be 2 grand prizes and 5 headshots given out.
While the examples on this post are WoW player characters, I can also draw fully original characters (both human and furry!), other MMO player characters and fan characters and fanart of JJBA series!
I cannot draw worgen characters from WoW (regular werewolves are ok!), fanart, real life people or characters without reference images! Anything* else is ok, though very complex characters might get simplified.
(* In case you ask for something I cannot draw but didn’t think of when writing this, I will give you a chance to change your request!)
To participate, you must…
» Be Following either meoproject [main/original art blog] or meocraft [wow/mmo art blog] — or both! Following both doesn’t give you extra chances, but hey, more art! Also, I do have other blogs, but they do not count for this giveaway — only my two main blogs do!
» Reblog or like this post. Multiple reblogs all count, but PLEASE don’t be excessive and try to pace it out and don’t spam your followers. No giveaway blogs.
» Aaand that’s it.
» Giveaway will end on 18th of October, midnight GMT+2 time. This time might get extended should something come up in my end.
» Winners will be drawn with random.org or similar randomizer. I will make a post when the giveaway is over before drawing the winners, and will contact winners via asks.
» I hold the right to modify and clarify these rules if I see fit or if troubles arise.
Thanks for reading!

- Sir Meo
shit, both my blogs hit their “funny number” counters so I guess I gotta do that giveaway soon… I’m heading out for the weekend, so I suppose I’ll make the post once I return, sound good?
I dunno how long the headshot sale is gonna go on… I kind of want to see and try if I could draw 100 headshots, so that’s my “kinda goal” for now. If there is no interest I’m not gonna try and push it, but it’s something I’m aiming for.
I’ve now drawn 44 headshots now, just to give you some perspective, and there are still works on queue, and some waiting for my review, but of course that doesn’t mean there will be interest after that.
It’s so cold and grey outside.
As much I hate summer and the heat that makes it hard to sleep at night, and the brightness that hurts my eyes, I hate autumn more…
I hate the greyness and dreadful cold that is coming, I hate how it reminds me of time passing, how I’m getting older and still achieving nothing. I hate it. I hate the slimy wetness and the cool rain and the falling leaves. I want it to never be autumn again, and maybe with that I can forget how old I am.
